چکیده

Decades long monitoring of millisecond pulsars, which exhibit highly stable rotational periods, in pulsar timing array experiments is on the threshold discovering nanohertz stochastic gravitational wave background. This paper describes Indian Pulsar (InPTA) experiment, employs upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) for an ensemble pulsars this purpose. We highlight InPTA's observation strategies and analysis methods, are relevant a future PTA experiment with more sensitive Square Kilometer Array (SKA) telescope. show that unique multi-sub-array multi-band wide-bandwidth frequency coverage InPTA provides Dispersion Measure estimates unprecedented precision e.g., ~ 2 x 10{-5} pc-cm{-3} PSR J1909-3744. Configuring SKA-low SKA-mid as two four sub-arrays respectively, it shown comparable achievable, using similar to those pursued by InPTA, larger sample 62 requiring about 26 7 hours per epoch telescopes respectively. also review ongoing efforts develop PTA-relevant general relativistic constructs will be required search waves from isolated super-massive black hole binary systems like blazar OJ 287. These should pursue persistent multi-messenger astronomy during forthcoming era SKA telescope, Thirty Meter Telescope, next-generation Event Horizon Telescope.

Gravitational wave astronomy

The first decade of the new millennium should see the first direct detections of gravitational waves. This will be a milestone or fundamental physics and it will open the new observational science of gravitational wave astronomy. But gravitational waves already play an important role in the modeling of astrophysical systems. I review here the present state of gravitational radiation theory in r...

Gravitational Wave Astronomy *

The subject of gravitational wave astronomy has had a certain amount of controversy associated with it, but it is developing fairly rapidly. Indeed certain aspects of the field have reached an exciting stage, although they have not produced any real astronomical data yet and may not do so for some time. In some ways there have been quite basic changes in the overall character of the field in th...

Limits on Anisotropy in the Nanohertz Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background.

The paucity of observed supermassive black hole binaries (SMBHBs) may imply that the gravitational wave background (GWB) from this population is anisotropic, rendering existing analyses suboptimal. We present the first constraints on the angular distribution of a nanohertz stochastic GWB from circular, inspiral-driven SMBHBs using the 2015 European Pulsar Timing Array data. Our analysis of the ...

Gravitational wave astronomy and cosmology

The first direct observation of gravitational waves’ action upon matter has recently been reported by the BICEP2 experiment. Advanced ground-based gravitational-wave detectors are being installed. They will soon be commissioned, and then begin searches for high-frequency gravitational waves at a sensitivity level that is widely expected to reach events involving compact objects like stellar mas...

Lighthouses of Gravitational Wave Astronomy

Gravitational wave detectors capable of making astronomical observations could begin to operate within the next year, and over the next 10 years they will extend their reach out to cosmological distances, culminating in the space mission LISA. A prime target of these observatories will be binary systems, especially those whose orbits shrink measurably during an observation period. These systems...
